5 Seconds Of Summer share their video for “Older”

5 Seconds of Summer shared their music video for “Older,” directed by Frank and Ivanna Borin. The love ballad features vocals from lead singer Luke Hemmings’ fiancée, Sierra Deaton.

5 Seconds of Summer said of the video:  “The video for ‘Older’ poses this question and portrays humans of all walks of life on their last day on earth. The song is about not wanting to get older because that means you’re one day closer to either your own eventual demise or that of your loved ones. Usually, in life, the end comes without warning, but we wanted the video to capture what could happen if we knew exactly when the end was coming. We made the video with our long-time friends and collaborators, the brilliant Frank and Ivanna Borin… we hope you enjoy it.”

Older is taken from the band’s fifth studio album, 5SOS5. Check out the video for Older on YouTube.

Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Black Adam debuted at No. 1 globally with $140 million in earnings its opening weekend. The superhero film earned $67 million in its domestic opening weekend, and added another $73 million overseas with IMAX accounting for $10.8 million of its earnings. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson in the title role alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Marwan Kenzari as Sabbac, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Mo Amer, Bodhi Sabongu, and Sarah Shahi.

With a reported $195 million budget, Black Adam is also the biggest domestic opening for a Dwayne Johnson-led project, outside the Fast and Furious franchise. Black Adam registered the third-biggest opening for a Warmer Bros. title in the pandemic era, however it could not match the global openings of fellow DC Extended Universe titles such as Man of Steel ($190 million worldwide), Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice ($422 million globally), Justice League ($278 million globally), and even Matt Reeves’ standalone The Batman from earlier this year, which made $258 million in its worldwide opening weekend.

Reviews for Black Adam have been mixed, but audience feedback for the film has been significantly better, with the film receiving a B+ CinemaScore from opening day audiences, and currently has a 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix shares the trailer for ‘The Crown’ Season 5

shutterstock_2202231531

Netflix has released the trailer for Season 5 of The Crown, which foreshadows the fate of Princess Diana.

Martin Bashir (Prasanna Puwanarajah) declares in the trailer “The royal family is in genuine crisis,” while Diana (now played by Elizabeth Debicki) says “People will never understand how it’s really been for me, I never stood a chance.”  Diana’s untimely death is not dramatized in the upcoming season, but will occur in the sixth and final season of the Emmy-winning drama that is currently filming.  You can take a look at the Season 5 trailer – here.

The Crown returns amid scrutiny surrounding the show’s accuracy in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death and the ascension of King Charles III.  Netflix released a statement defending the series earlier this week, saying: “The Crown has always been presented as a drama based on historical events. Series five is a fictional dramatization, imagining what could have happened behind closed doors during a significant decade for the royal family — one that has already been scrutinized and well-documented by journalists, biographers and historians.”

Lewis Capaldi shared on social media details of his long-awaited sophomore album titled ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent,’ the follow-up to his 2019 debut, ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.’ Capaldi also announced a headlining world tour in support of the album, with his North American leg launching next spring.  General ticket sales will begin Friday, October 21st at noon local time via Ticketmaster.

Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’ is set release on May 19, 2023; Capaldi says of the project:  “I felt like I was sounding better because I was just chilled out in my own gaff. Also, a lot of this record was made with most of the same people who I worked with on the first one: TMS, Phil Plested, Nick Atkinson, and Edd Holloway. At least one of them is on almost every song.  I don’t want to create a new sound for myself, or reinvent myself. The songs I want to write are emotional songs, about love or loss.”

The official video for Capaldi’s latest hit song, “Forget Me” is directed by Louis Bhose and is a shot-for-shot remake of Wham’s 1983 hit “Club Tropicana.” Capaldi has also unveiled an acoustic version of the track, which you can listen to here.
