Twenty One Pilots Singer Tyler Joseph Apologizes For Insensitive BLM Tweet

Twenty One Pilots singer Tyler Joseph is apologizing for a tweet he posted this week. Joseph faced backlash over sharing a tone-deaf joke about him reaching his 2.2 million Twitter followers to advance social causes. The singer tweeted two photos of himself wearing platform shoes, saying in the caption: “You guys keep asking me to use my platforms. Feels good to dust these bad boys off.”  When he started receiving criticism for the post, however, Joseph explained, “I use music, humor, being alone, breaks from social media, family, uncomfortable and honest conversations with friends, and sometimes cryingA few tools, but they don’t all work for everyone. Mentally/emotionally, I can only carry so much, because what I do care about is so heavy, the thought of adding more on top of it makes me want to stop trying.” Joseph continued to stand behind the photos, saying again, “This isn’t a Notes app moment. I’m doubling down on my platform tweet. It was fantastic.”

However, Joseph ultimately clarified his support for the movement and issued an apology, saying: “My tweet wasn’t suppose[d] to be about human rights. So in case you are wondering where I stand: Black Lives Matter. I just wanted to take a moment to raise awareness about something else that has meant a lot to me for a long time. But now I see there is no room for that right now. I’m truly sorry if it hurt anyone.” The Twenty One Pilots member then shared a link with ways to help the Black Lives Matter movement.

Dwayne Johnson and his family are recovering after having tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19.) Johnson revealed on social media Wednesday that he, his wife Lauren Hashian, and their daughters Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, all have been sick with the virus, with the actor and his wife being particularly unwell. Thankfully, they are all now feeling much better.

Johnson said in his video message on Instagram.: “I wanted to give you guys a little helpful update on things that have been going on on my end for the past two-and-a-half to three weeks now. So the update is this: my wife Lauren as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19. I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well.”

Johnson said that he and his family contracted the contagious respiratory virus from family friends, who he said are “devastated” that they unwittingly spread the virus.  He added that while his daughters “bounced back” from the virus pretty quickly, he and Lauren “had a rough go at it.”   He also urged his fans to exercise extreme caution when interacting with others to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

FINNEAS Drops New Song And Video For “What They’ll Say About Us”

tmpd563bf8f-3f8d-491b-b2cd-360308d1f23c-jpg

Songwriter and producer FINNEAS has shared a music video for his new song “What They’ll Say About Us.”

FINNEAS wrote “What They’ll Say About Us” during quarantine, and said in a press release: “I wrote this song in June after spending the day at a protest in Downtown L.A., filled with hope with the prospect that millions of people were coming together from all over the world to fight against institutionalized racism and inequality. During that time, I’d also been following Amanda Kloots as she documented her husband Nick Cordero’s time in the ICU while in a coma after being admitted for COVID-19. Imagining her sitting by his side, waiting, hopeful for him to wake up, it got me thinking about all the millions of people, all over the world, who also have loved ones, parents, children and extended family members going through the same thing. Fighting this horrific virus. Some will overcome and wake up again, while others, tragically may not. This song is dedicated to all who have had to endure this year. I hope this song can offer some sort of comfort to those who may need it.”

What They’ll Say About Us is the first new music from FINNEAS since his video for “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night.” He also released a deluxe edition of his debut EP, Blood Harmony.

tmpb833ec71-c991-4201-a5e2-997a34a20df0-jpg

Ed Sheeran, 29, and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, 28, have announced the birth of their baby girl on Instagram.

“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran,” Sheeran wrote alongside a photo of a pair of baby socks on top of a blue and green blanket.  He added, “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”

Sheeran and Seaborn tied the knot in December 2018 at their home in Suffolk, England, in front of 40 friends and family members. Sheeran first met Seaborn at school when he was 11, but their relationship didn’t turn romantic until the summer of 2015 when they shared their first date at Taylor Swift’s annual Fourth of July party. The couple starred in their first music video together for his single, “Put It All on Me,” back in December 2019.
