Support on social media for Comedian John Mulaney after he checks into rehab for substance abuse

Friends and celebrities are showing support for John Mulaney after reports he has checked into rehab for alcohol and cocaine addiction. 

The former “Saturday Night Live” writer has spoken about alcohol in past stand-up routines and interviews. In a 2019 profile by Esquire, Mulaney called alcohol “addictive,” saying he began drinking at 13 years old. He said that he stopped doing cocaine August 2005 and one month later gave up alcohol. In the interview, Mulaney said that he did not go to a recovery program but had been sober ever since.

After the news about Mulaney checking into rehab, several fellow comedians and actors began tweeting about their friend.  Mulaney currently stars in Netflix’s animated comedy “Big Mouth,” created by frequent collaborator Nick Kroll.

“The Book Of Boba Fett” Officially Announced as Spinoff Of “The Mandalorian”

Disney is confirming that The Book of Boba Fett will be a full new series debuting in December of 2021.  The new spin-off series will take place in the same general timeframe as The Mandalorian, so crossover between these shows.

The tweet from Disney+ also confirms that the show will be executive produced by Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau along with Dave Filoni (executive producer of Star Wars Rebels) and writer / director Robert Rodriguez (who recently directed episode 14 of The Mandalorian). 

Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, which they played in recent episodes of The Mandalorian.

Twenty One Pilots ‘Level of Concern’ Sets Guinness Record for World’s Longest Video

According to a release from the group’s label, Twenty One Pilots just earned the Guinness World Record for the longest music video ever.

The “Never-Ending” clip for the duo’s pandemic hit “Level of Concern” has live-streamed for 177 straight days thanks to fan-populated imagery that has kept the visual fresh for half the year.

The clip — conceived by the group with interactive director Jason Nickel and director Jason Zada — has cycled in more than 162,000 Skeleton Clique submissions, in real time, live on YouTube. The project launched on June 12 with a global treasure hunt that involved unlocking 20 codes, which in turn each unlocked virtual USB drives through which fans could download a zip file containing images, videos and symbols from the band’s personal phones, leading to more codes needed to solve the ARG game.

The video refreshed every 3:42 with new content from fans, creating more than 400 new versions every day. “Level of Concern” smashed the previous record holder, Pharrell Williams’ 24-hour long “Happy” video, with a total run time of 4,264 hours, 10 mins and 25 seconds before coming to an end on Dec. 16.

Katy Perry Drops Video For “Not The End Of The World” Starring Zooey Deschanel

Katy Perry is back with a new music video for her song “Not the End of the World,” starring her celebrity lookalike, actress Zooey Deschanel.

The video pokes fun at Perry and Deschanel’s resemblance. In the beginning of the video, aliens accidentally abduct Deschanel instead of Perry and mistake her for the singer. The video ends with Deschanel dressed up and performing as Perry.

“Not the End of the World” appears on Perry’s sixth studio album, Smile, released in August. Perry released Smile just two days after giving birth to Daisy Dove, her daughter with her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom.

Tik-Tok’s The D’Amelio Family Announce Upcoming Reality Show on Hulu

Tik-Tok’s most famous sisters, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, are now branching out with their parents for a new reality series on Hulu. The show will provide an inside look into their family life and jobs as content creators, featuring the two sisters and their parents.The D’Amelios announced their new Hulu show in a video on Instagram, with Charli saying, “Hey guys, we are so excited to announce that we have an original series coming to Hulu in 2021.” Dixie chimed in, saying, “We can’t wait to share our lives with you all,” with mom, Heidi adding, “And show you our day-to-day in LA,” and dad Marc finishing off with “And we can’t wait for you to get to know us all better.” 

There’s no official date for the show’s release yet, but it is set to debut sometime in 2021.

Peter Jackson shares preview of Beatles documentary ‘Get Back’

Peter Jackson’s documentary on The Beatles, “Get Back,” was due to be released this year before the coronavirus pushed it back to 2021. 

The film – which contains 1969 behind-the-scenes footage from 1969 – just released it’s first sneak peak on YouTube, and Jackson says in the introduction to the clip: “We’ve got 56 hours of never-before-seen Beatles footage, and it’s really…it’s great stuff. I would say we’re about halfway through the edit now, but because you’ve been so patient and the film’s been delayed until 2021, we thought it was a good time to give you a little sneaky preview.”

The Beatles: Get Back is due to be released Aug. 27, 2021. You can check out the first preview of the film: here.

Ed Sheeran returns with new song Aftrerglow”

After taking some time off, Ed Sheeran is back with new music. Sheeran first teased fans with an upcoming “Christmas present,” following that up on Monday with the new song, “Afterglow.” The 29-year-old star wrote on social media, “Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x.”

In August, Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. Sheeran announced his daughter’s arrival about one year after confirming his marriage to Seaborn on his 2019 album No.6 Collaborations Project.

Justin Timberlake To Stars In Apple Original Film ‘Palmer’

Justin Timberlake will star as a former high school football player in Palmer for Apple TV+  The film will also star Alisha Wainwright (Shadowhunters), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and June Squibb (Godmothered), alongside newcomer Ryder Allen.

The upcoming film follows Timberlake as the titular Eddie Palmer who returns home to Louisiana after 12 years in a state penitentiary.

Timberlake shared the trailer for Palmer and described the upcoming film on social media, saying, “This story is really important to me and I’m proud to be part of it.”

Palmer is set to premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ worldwide on January 29, 2021.  You can check out the trailer at the link: here.

‘Coming 2 America’ First Look Images Tease The Return Of Eddie Murphy’s King Akeem

The first official photos from the upcoming Coming 2 America have been released, giving fans the first glimpse of Eddie Murphy reprising his role as King Akeem.

Coming 2 America was pushed back from its original August 7 and December 18 release dates. Amazon Studios bought the film’s rights for $125 million, and the movie will hit Amazon Prime Video worldwide on March 5, 2021.

In addition to Eddie Murphy, most of the original cast returns: Arsenio Hall, Shari Headley, John Amos, Paul Bates, and James Earl Jones are back, as well as Vanessa Belle Calloway, Garcelle Beauvais, and Louis Anderson. Newcomers include Tracy Morgan, Luenell, Teyana Taylor and Michael Blackson.

Ariana Grande Announces Engagement To Boyfriend Dalton Gomez

Ariana Grande announced that she is engaged to boyfriend Dalton Gomez on Instagram. Grande revealed the news in a series of photos of the two cuddling up together, writing in the caption, “Forever n then some,” and also flashed a ring with a massive diamond sparkler and what looked like a white pearl on a thin platinum band.

Grande and Dalton first confirmed their romance in June, when they appeared together in her quarantine-themed duet with Justin Bieber, “Stuck With U.” The pop superstar reportedly “spent a lot of one-on-one time” with Gomez in quarantine at the singer’s home in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus crisis lockdown. Grande and Gomez, a Los Angeles real estate agent, largely kept their love life out of the public eye.

Grande was previously engaged to “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson in June 2018, but months later the pop star officially called off the engagement after their short-lived whirlwind romance.
