Gracie Abrams shares Taylor Swift duet ‘Us’ off new album “The Secret of Us”

Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams released the single “Close to You”, which the 24-year-old first wrote seven years ago and revisits on her new album, The Secret of Us.

Gracie wrote on Instagram: “i wrote Close To You seven years ago and we made a demo that i posted 20 seconds of and you somehow cared about it enough for us to revisit the song seven years later. ‘Close To You’ was not initially a part of TSOU — it’s from a different time entirely, we had finished the whole record top to bottom, but i heard you loud and clear,” she said. “consider this one a bonus track pre-deluxe? with everyone getting their vinyls this week, i got impatient and wanted you all to have it early. or seven years late, actually.”

The Secret of Us also features the single “Risk,” along with 11 other songs — including the track “Us” featuring Taylor Swift. Abrams shared videos on Instagram that show herself and Swift writing the song and dealing with a small kitchen fire, captioning the post“Writing this entire song from 2am to 6am was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. @taylorswift now we know how to use a fire extinguisher. I love you.”

In addition, Abrams will embark on “The Secret of Us Tour” this fall in support of her sophomore album (the trek precedes dates Abrams will be opening on Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour in North America at the end of the year). Kicking off in Portland, Oregon on September 5th, “The Secret of Us Tour” will continue with stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, New York City, Boston, and more before wrapping up in Portland, Maine on October 10th. Indie pop artist Role Model will open all dates of the tour.

After Abrams concludes her 2024 headlining tour, she’ll head back on the road a week later to open for Swift on “The Eras Tour” beginning on October 18th in Miami.
