Billie Eilish’s “Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” will premiere globally Friday, September 3 on Disney+

The cinematic concert experience is set to be released shortly after Eilish’s highly anticipated new album, Happier than Ever, drops. The Disney+ original will feature an intimate performance of every song in the album’s sequential order – for the first and only time – from the stage of the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

The special will also include animated elements, taking viewers on a dreamlike journey through Billie’s hometown of Los Angeles and its most iconic backdrops. “Disney is incredibly iconic, so to collaborate on something like this is a huge honor,” said Billie Eilish. “To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.”

Taylor Swift will not submit ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ for consideration at Grammy and CMA Awards

Taylor Swift will not be submitting her re-recorded Fearless (Taylor’s Version) for Grammy and CMA Awards consideration. However the 31-year-old Swift will be placing her ninth studio album ‘Evermore’ up for nomination in each eligible class.

Swift re-recorded her 2008 second studio album after Scooter Braun bought Big Machine Records which held the rights to her first six albums in 2019. In a press release to Billboard, a Republic Records consultant stated: ‘After cautious consideration, Taylor Swift won’t be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any class at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards. Fearless has already received 4 Grammys together with album of the year, in addition to the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and stays probably the most awarded nation album of all time.’

In 2020, Swift launched two new albums, folklore and Evermore. Folklore received Album Of The Year on the Grammys this previous March; yhe companion album, Evermore, launched in December 2020 and is eligible for the 2022 Grammys.

Ariana Grande releases live performance of ‘Off The Table’ with The Weeknd

The Weeknd and Ariana Grande have collaborated once again for the Vevo official live performance of “off the table.” The singers previously worked together on a remix of “Save Your Tears.”

Ahead of its release, The Weeknd took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal that the video was dropping soon. “Ari 🤍 @vevo off the table tomorrow,” he captioned a still from the music video on Tuesday.

Grande also shared a sneak peak, writing, “Last but not least ….. 🤍 @vevo off the table – wednesday @theweeknd. positions – thursday🌿.”

“Off the Table” was released as the fifth track on Grande’s album, Positions, which came out last October. Check out the live performance of “off the table” – here.

BTS replaces themselves at No. 1 with “Permission To Dance”

“Permission To Dance” from BTS has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, replacing themselves at the top spot by knocking off their previous single “Butter,” which dropped to No. 7 after seven weeks at No. 1. Permission To Dance, co-written by Ed Sheeran, marks the group’s fifth Hot 100 No. 1 since September 2020, following “Butter,” “Life Goes On,” “Savage Love (Laxed — Siren Beat),” and “Dynamite,” the latter of which was nominated for a Grammy.

BTS also just announced the Permission To Dance challenge in collaboration with YouTube Shorts. From July 23- Aug. 14, fans can post their own 15-second YouTube video dancing along to the track’s iconic choreography- with the hashtags #PermissionToDance and #Shorts. The group will feature their favorite clips in an upcoming compilation video.

Lorde shares new song “Stoned at the Nail Salon”

Lorde has shared her second single, “Stoned at the Nail Salon” from her upcoming album Solar Power. The song, co-produced with Jack Antonoff, features background vocals from Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo, Marlon Williams, and James Milne.

Listen to HAIM’s new single, ‘Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache’

HAIM have released a new song, “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache,” which appears on the soundtrack to the upcoming film The Last Letter From Your Lover. which premieres on Netflix on 7/23. HAIM have another project in the works with Netflix; the animated musical The Witch Boy will feature “original music” from the sister trio.

Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache is HAIM’s first track since last year’s ‘Women In Music Pt. III’. They also released “Christmas Wrapping” during the holidays, and they recruited Taylor Swift for a remix of “Gasoline”.

Lil Nas X announces upcoming Kanye West-produced single “Industry Baby”

Lil Nas X announced the release of his upcoming single, “Industry Baby,” featuring Jack Harlow, and co-produced by Kanye West and frequent collaborators Take A Daytrip. Industry Baby is set to appear on Lil Nas X’s upcoming debut album, and is the follow-up to his single, “Sun Goes Down,” which dropped back in May.

Along with the announcement, the rapper shared a short preview video with a humorous take on his legal issues with Nike over his “Satan Shoe” collaboration with New York-based art collective MSCHF. In a lawsuit, Nike claimed the unauthorized shoes were “likely to cause confusion…and create an erroneous association between MSCHF’s products and Nike.” MSCHF was subsequently barred from sending out any remaining pairs of the shoe.

will.i.am., Nick Lachey, Alanis Morisette, Grimes, and Rosci Diaz to judge new avatar singing competition show ‘Alter Ego’ on Fox

A new singing competition show on FOX is coming. The network announced on Instagram that  Alter Ego — a.k.a. “the world’s first avatar singing competition series” — is slated to air this fall, featuring Grimes, Alanis Morissette, will.i.am., Nick Lachey, and Rosci Diaz as its judges.  Fox also shared a video clip about the upcoming show.

Alter Ego will use motion capture technology to transform its participants into their “dream avatars.” Rob Wade, Fox’s president of alternative entertainment and specials, said in a press release: “Alter Ego merges talent and technology to revolutionize the singing competition show in only a way Fox can do. We are so excited to bring the fantastic will.i.am, Alanis, Grimes, Nick and Rocsi together as they search for the next big singing star, allowing incredible vocalists a chance to realize their dreams and perform like never before.”

A premiere date has not been set for “Alter Ego,” but is expected to be revealed soon.

Halsey welcomes first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin

Halsey has welcomed her first child, Ender Ridley Aydin, with boyfriend Alev Aydin last week. The singer shared the news on social media Monday, posting a pic with Aydin and their new bundle of joy, as well as a black-and-white photo of her baby breastfeeding, along with the caption: “Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin, 7/14/2021.”

The baby news comes just weeks after Halsey announced her upcoming album, “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” (due out August 27), which she called “a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth.”

Halsey first announced her pregnancy in January with a social media post that showed off her baby bump, tagging her boyfriend, Aydin.

Blackpink to release ‘Blackpink the Movie’ in theaters this August

Blackpink are set to release Blackpink the Movie, marking the K-pop quartet’s fifth anniversary of their Square One project debut.  The film will hit theaters worldwide on August 4th and 8th, and will be offered in a variety of formats, including via an expanded three-screen system that utilizes the side walls of a theater called ScreenX, a multi-sensory experience meant to mimic a live experience called 4DX, and a combination of the two. Tickets are on sale at the link here.

The film will showcase scenes that focus on each member of the group — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Segments include “The Room of Memories,” which reflects on their last five years, “Beauty” features shots of each member, and “Exclusive Interviews” houses messages for their fans. It will also highlight performance footage from 2021’s The Show and 2018’s In Your Area alongside hit songs from the group.

Blackpink debuted in 2016 with the album Square One, featuring songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” Their debut studio album, The Album, arrived in 2020. Blackpink member Jennie debuted her album Solo in 2018, and earlier this year member Rosé released her debut solo project titled R.
