The Kid Laroi is back with the song “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro),” the first single from his upcoming project, The First Time. The album is set to be released later this year via Columbia Records.

The 19-year-old rapper is following up with the release of “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro)” with the official video directed by Julian Klincewicz.  The video shows The Kid Laroi contemplating his own memories before surprising fans at the end of the “Intro” with the release date for the upcoming song “Love Again” coming on Friday, January 27th. The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber finished last year at No. 1 on the Top Songs of 2022 with their collaboration “Stay,” released in the summer of 2021.  “Stay” has not dropped out of the Daily Top 100 since its global release, and has reached No. 1 on the Daily Top 100 in 69 countries and regions worldwide.

Miley Cyrus’s latest single, “Flowers,” has debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated January 28. Although Miley has another No. 1 hit with “Wrecking Ball” from her 2013 album Bangerz, ‘Flowers’ is the first time a single of hers has debuted at the top of the Hot 100. Flowers’ also made headlines recently for breaking the Spotify record for the most streamed song in a single week, achieving 96 million streams on the platform in its first week of streaming.

SZA‘s “Kill Bill” from her sophomore album, SOS claimed the No. 2 spot, while Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” – which had previously held the top spot for eight non-consecutive weeks – now sits at No. 3.

The Recording Academy has announced the first round of performers for the 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony. which will take place Feb. 5 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and air at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. It will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.  Former Daily Show host Trevor Noah will host the Grammys for the third consecutive year.

Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, and Lizzo are slated to take the stage as part of the 65th iteration of the annual music awards show. Brandi Carlile , Kim Petras and Sam Smith, Luke Combs and Steve Lacy are also slated to perform. Each of the artists is nominated at this year’s Grammys, with Bad Bunny up for three awards, including Album of the Year, Mary J. Blige nominated for both album and record of the year for a total of six nominations, Lizzo racking up five nominations, including record of the year, album of the year and song of the year, and Carlile nominated for seven awards, including Record of the Year. Additional performers are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Beyoncé leads this year’s nominees with nine nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight nominations and Adele and Carlile with seven nominations each.

Justin Bieber has sold his publishing and recorded music rights to Hipgnosis Songs Capital in a $200 million deal. The 28-year-old singer made the sale for 290 titles released before December 31, 2021, including his most recent album, Justice, released in March 2021.

Merck Mercuriadis, founder and CEO of Hipgnosis Song Management said: “The impact of Justin Bieber on global culture over the last 14 years has truly been remarkable … This acquisition ranks among the biggest deals ever made for an artist under the age of 70, such is the power of this incredible catalog that has almost 82 million monthly listeners and over 30 billion streams on Spotify alone. Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie shared on Instagram that the band will end their professional career after 19 years. The band was originally formed in 2004.  Urie’s statement revealed his plans to spend more time with his family following the arrival of his forthcoming child, and added that Panic! will disband after the end of their upcoming European tour, which is set to kick off on February 20 in Vienna before wrapping up on March 10 in Manchester, UK.

Urie’s statement read: “Well, it’s been a hell of a journey…Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way … But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure … That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more … Thank you all for your immense support over the years. I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. Dua Lipa was revealed as one of five co-chairs for the 2023 Met Gala. The yearly event, which takes place on May 1st, is one of the biggest events in the fashion world and attracts many high-profile celebrities.

Along with Dua, included amongst the list of co-chairs are Emmy award-winning actress and screenwriter Michaela Coel, four-time Oscar nominee Penelope Cruz, retired tennis great Roger Federer, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

In addition to the announcement of the co-chairs, the theme of this year’s Met Gala was also revealed to be a tribute to fashion icon and longtime Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in February of 2019. The exhibition accompanying the Gala is titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and is set to feature over 150 looks from the legendary designer spanning his entire lifetime.

Emancipation and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua will be at the helm of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. The film, titled ‘Michael’, is written by John Logan and produced by ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ producer Graham King, alongside the co-executors of the Michael Jackson Estate, John Branca and John McClain. No word yet on who might be playing the King of Pop.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman Joe Drake said in a statement: “Antoine is a perceptive and powerful filmmaker, and we feel very fortunate that he has chosen Michael as his next project. His visionary storytelling skills and commitment to his craft will make Michael an unforgettable film.”

Producer Grahm King added, “Antoine’s films provide personal perspectives of larger-than-life characters that continuously captivate global audiences. I’m confident that Antoine will make an exceptional and compelling film that will both celebrate and give profound new insights into the life of the King of Pop.”

‘Michael’ will chronicle the life and career of Jackson, though it has not yet been revealed which parts of the late singer’s life the biopic will focus on. Press releases stated that the film will “make the most of Jackson’s musical accomplishments and recreation of seminal career,” starting with his rise to fame as a child singer in ‘The Jackson 5’ to his solo success as an adult. It is also reported that ‘Michael’ will touch on the scandals that plagued Jackson’s personal life, including allegations of sexual abuse that had been leveled against the singer.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced that Snoop Dogg, Sade Adu, Gloria Estefan and Teddy Riley are among those to be inducted later this year. The list of songwriters joining the Hall of Fame this year also include Glen Ballard, ELO co-founder Jeff Lynne, and Liz Rose. At 51, Snoop is the youngest inductee; while Lynne is the oldest at 75.

Songwriters Hall of Fame and 2016 inductee Nile Rodgers said: “The music industry does not exist without songwriters delivering great songs first. Without them there is no recorded music, no concert business, no merch… nothing, it all starts with the song and the songwriter. We are therefore very proud that we are continually recognizing some of the culturally most important songwriters of all time and that the 2023 slate represents not just iconic songs but also diversity and unity across genres, ethnicity and gender, songwriters who have enriched our lives and, in their time, literally transformed music and the lives of billions of listeners all over the world.”

This is the fifth consecutive year of the Songwriters Hall of Fame to see the induction of a rap or hip-hop artist, following Jay-Z in 2017, Jermaine Dupri in 2018, Missy Elliott in 2019, and Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams as The Neptunes in 2022.

The ceremony to induct the seven songwriters will be held on June 15 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

SZA has dropped a four-track bundle for her hit single, “Kill Bill.” The pack features the original version of the song that appears in her latest album, SOS, along its with sped up, instrumental and vocals-only versions.

The bundle arrives shortly after the release of the Kill Bill music video, directed by Christian Breslauer and featuring a cameo from Kill Bill actress Vivica A. Fox. The video shows SZA taking revenge on a lover who attempts finish her off.

“Kill Bill” has  jumped to No. 1 on the Global 200 chart, and the album SOS has spent five consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. It is the first R&B album by a woman to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 since Janet Jackson’s janet. in 1993.

A masked intruder entered Billie Eilish’s family home in Los Angeles earlier this month. While he was arrested and no one was home when he broke in, the singer has now filed a restraining order against the suspect, 39-year-old Christopher Anderson.

The 21-year-old Eilish said that Anderson entered her house “unannounced and uninvited after apparently professing his love for me and expressing that he really wanted to meet me” in a statement with the filing. Eilish continued in her statement: “Regrettably, this is not the first time an unknown individual has attempted to contact my family and me specifically by stalking us outside my family’s home and by making professions of love to and threats of violence against me. However, each such occasion, including the present one, causes me substantial anxiety, fear, and emotional distress over my personal safety and that of my father, mother, and brother. I worry that some day one of these individuals will do something violent or extremely disturbing to me or one of my family members.”

According to the restraining order, this wasn’t the first time the suspect showed up to the residence; police had been called on five separate occasions. Eilish’s father, Patrick O’Connell, shared that Anderson had approached the home several times in December.  He once rang the intercom and asking to use the restroom, and on December 28 (just a week before the break in) he slid a cell phone under the gate. He returned the next day with a white flower and handwritten letter that “professed his love for my daughter Billie, claimed that at some point in time Billie had been watching Mr. Anderson and writing songs about Mr. Anderson, and that Mr. Anderson really wanted to meet Billie.” In addition to protecting herself, the restraining order would also protect Billie’s father, mother Maggie May Baird, and brother Finneas O’Connell.
